rebound control: rakell is back

After an up-and-down, ridiculous week for the Ads, they return home this weekend against Portland. Some good news for the team and fans today!

rickard rakell sent back

C Rickard Rakell has been sent back to the Ads. The rookie played 7 games for the Ducks in the wake of Saku Koivu sustaining a concussion in a game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Rakell notched an assist during his time, but managed to put up positive puck possession numbers. His impressive play was most likely a large factor in deciding to trade Peter Holland to the Maple Leafs.  Rakell is now the obvious 1C, and he adds an offensive punch, with 6 points in 11 games for the Ads.   As a consequence of this move,  F Norm Ezekiel  has been sent back to the Grizzlies.

 

stefan noesen has surgery

F Stefan Noesen is a healthy scratch all year thanks to an injury he sustained in practice.  Part of the Jakob Silfverberg/Bobby Ryan trade, the former Senators 1st round pick was set to start his rookie season with the Ads.  Today, he took a big step in his recovery with his surgery. He tweeted positive things about it:

 

 

josh o’brien interviews former/current ads

Off-ice official and stand-up comedian Josh O’Brien has a podcast where he occasionally interviews hockey players. This week’s episode features former Ads and current Crunch Eric Neilson and Mike Angelidis as well as current Admiral Zack Stortini.  Neilson’s Halloween story is pretty funny. jesse blacker gets a number

D Jesse Blacker, who came over in the trade for Peter Holland, has a number. He’ll be wearing #4, which was Hampus Lindholm‘s number.
