#stayhotkurtzy re-signs

Some good news before tonight’s clash against the WBS Pens.

Fan-favorite grit forward/penalty killer John Kurtz has re-signed with the Anaheim Ducks organization for one year, according to Renaud Lavoie of the Montreal Journal. Kurtz will be once again be on a two-way contract that pays him $600,00; a slight increase from his current salary.

What this means for the Admirals is that they have a potential free agent back in the fold for next year. Parts of this year have seen Kurtz wear an “A” and there’s a good chance he may become captain next year if Garnet Exelby does not stay with the club.  It’s a nice reward for a player who’s already surpassed his career high in points.
