I’m not even going to bother with a jump! Norfolk wins its first home game since Valentine’s day against division rival and top EC team Hershey, 4-0! Rookie Ryan Faragher stopped every shot he faced, 24 for the Bears. The Ads played a sterling defensive effort, managing 35 shots on goal, keeping the puck away. A pretty clean game was played by Norfolk with Hershey committing six penalties, including two delay of games. Scoring was all over as the Ads received goals from fan favorite Max Friberg, Charlie Sarault (playing on a top line in the wake of Stefan Noesen’s promotion to Anaheim), defensive forward Matt Bailey, and the Giraffe himself, Antoine Laganiere! Josh Manson lead the way for the defense, notching 2 assists tonight. Mike Sgarbossa was no slouch himself, also picking up 2 helpers. Brandon Montour and Louis Leblanc also registered points on goals. Norfolk beat an incredibly promising prospect in Hershey’s Philip Grubauer, who has a solid .921 SV% for the Chocolate and White this year. With two home games left in the Ads’ AHL existence, it was great to see them get an incredibly satisfying win against a long-time foe.
