Another day full of transactions for the Ads. Generally, the positive news outweighs the negative news.
First, Peter MacIntyre was released by the team. MacIntyre played in three games, recording an assist.
Good news came today with two players being lifted off of the IR. Goalie Philippe Cadorette is finally healthy, and will likely back up Ty Rimmer on Wednesday night. Cadorette should get that job as a result of Nic Riopel being on reserve and the recall of Tyler Beskorowany. A member of the the Springfield Falcons, Beskorowany hasn’t been on the Admirals roster more than five days. I’m not sure how this plays out, because the coaches likely want to get Cadorette some work this week.
Nick MacNeil is finally healthy. MacNeil is a holdover from last year’s Bakersfield team, where he amassed 12+14=26 points in 46 games. Norfolk’s offense found a beat over the weekend, hopefully MacNeil can add to the rhythm.
Welcome back, Quinn Smith! The Boston College product played 2 games for the Ads on their road trip, and scored a goal before being released. Needing bodies, he’s back.
Charles-Olivier Roussel is on reserve. Putting your team’s leading scorer on reserve is weird, and most likely a roster space move. Remember: there are roster limits in the ECHL, and you can only have so many players. He might get switched to active tomorrow. Unless he’s injured.
Speaking of which, Tim Daly is on the 21-day IR retroactive to November 23. Daly has to sit out through December 14th before he can be reactivated.
Also on the injury front: Chase Schaber skated at McArthur Mall today, which is good news for his progress.
