tuesday transactions 12/29

Ty Rimmer is not here yet

Most of the big news in terms of transactions was covered yesterday with the Kassian-for-Scrivens exchange. As of this writing, Ty Rimmer is still a Bakersfield Condor. I am not exactly sure, beyond Eetu Laurikainen possibly still being on an airplane. Rimmer would be helpful for a team about to play 4 games this week.

Norfolk made some other moves as well. Forwards Bryan MacGregor and Ryan Jasinsky were released. MacGregor was acquired from Brampton, and then suspended as he decided to play overseas. Jasinsky had a lot of penalty minutes, and not much else.  Goalie Philippe Cadorette was also released, to the surprise of no one.

Tim Daly was activated off of reserve the other day, and the biggest news is the signing of forward Devin Mantha. The forward played one game in France’s 2nd division before playing most of the season for SPHL Mississippi. Mantha netted 19 points in 21 games, which ties him for 7th in league scoring. Last year, he finished tied for 12th.

Norfolk plays Atlanta in like an hour.
